A Few Questions On A Type R 12"

hi whats the best type of box for a type r 12" sealed or ported? also what is the recomed box voloume for this sub, and when im reading about a box and it says 1.5cft and the sub needs 1.5cft is that the right box for it because the sub takes up some of the room i dunno much about this stuff so any help would be great, also my amps 658rmsx1 at 2ohms and my type r is a dual 4ohm sub i think the only way i can wire it is down to 2ohms will 658rms blow it? my amps a alpine

MRD-M605 id like to wire the sub to 4ohms but ive been told i cant,also in the future if i buy another type r 12" giving each sub 330rms will they sub fine and work good? thanks.

the sub will take all 658 watts. ported or sealed depends on what you are trying to accomplish as far as sound goes.

x2 unless you can throw 800w RMS to each Type R 12" meaning you'd need a 1600w RMs x 1 @ 1 ohm amp if you get the Dual 4 ohm if you get the dual 2 ohm you'll need an amp that will do 1600w RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms.

Don't go cheap on the power either....atleast buy a Hifonics BXI 16006D for $350

bxi2006d is more like $350

that amp should be great for the sub. i'd recommend at least 2ft^3 after displacement tuned to 30-35Hz.

give us max height and width you have to work with and i (or someone else) can get a you a set of plans.

i like that first one with the power you've got. should work great and save some cargo space in your vehicle as well.
