so i have a Taurus, and i really want to put a sub in it. i have a amp and sub all picked out. now if you don't know, the Taurus has some retarded ass head unit setup, and it has like 10 wires in a harness that runs all the way back to the trunk, where there is a small amp. i heard the best way is to put in a LOC there, using the rear speakers, get my rca, use that for the audio signal. my dad for some reason is doubtful that this is the best way to do it. so anyone that has a Taurus, or has worked with one, is this the best way? or is there something better?

yeah i was going to do that after i get my subs. i just dont have the money for both at all.
Understandable. The LOC will do okay for now. You'll want to upgrade that cd player in the future if you're going to take the hobby seriously, though.

Also, my friend has some pretty decent speakers that'll fit nicely into your doors. Model # is Kenwood KFCP680C. This is what they look like: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2007/113/h113KFCP680-fp.jpg

If you're interested, I can probably get you a pair for about $50 shipped...

I still have a pic of the speakers:

I initially bought these, loaned them to a friend, sold them to another friend and they're back for sale again. Seems like they've been around the block quite a few times, but they've only seen about 4 or 5 months of actual use. All of my friends have upgraded to components, so these won't be making the rounds anymore.

They sound good on 40 - 75 watts...

Using an LOC is your best bet. I used to drive a 97 and had a complete system in it.

Lemme know if you have any questions.

Ohh, and I have a 10 disk cd changer for sale if your interested. Interfaces with the stock RCU in the trunk. $15 + shipping.

These cars are def not the easiest for car audio. I just did a full install in my 98. And I have to agree with misfit, when you get the money get the the install kit.
