How do you calculate something like this? I want to do a blow through 4th order like this and only have the port coming through the back of my truck and I have 6 inexpensive 10's that call for .9 CF for each sealed, how huge would this thing be for these?
Well, some people on here (Galactic Monkey) gave me the idea of tuning to 50hz, then the rest I kinda toyed with WinISD and Bassboxpro. It's getting the design so it'll fit in your car that's the tricky part. Just gotta make lots of measurements and be sure your right...obviously my port could have been done better, but it's my first bandpass build, so whatever.
Nice work. Does your car only have that skihole or can you fold down the seats? Also how is your mechman alternator doing?
I can fold down the seats. Not too big on losing all functionality of the car...yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The mechman alt is doing ok...it's just a pain to have to keep re-adjusting the alternator to get the belt **** tight so no squeals. I've had to adjust it so many times, loosen the power steering belt to let the alternator move more upwards to get the belt tighter...it's been a pain, and feel bad for other accord owners who have to go through this too! Don't buy a 99 Honda Accord if you want a HO alt!
Looks good, but you gotta learn to go slow when you cut circles with a sabre saw haha. You should see the circles I make
Yeah, my template was crappy...that's the ONE portion of the build that I was in a rush on, just because I wanted to go to bed...OOps!
Interesting. I was thinking of doing this with my accord too.
DOOO EEEEETTT
if the rear seats fold down I dont see the point of this unless you want to wang with people in the back sear
Yeah, the car isn't just for me. Sometimes my wife and I go places with friends, so it's nice to be able to tote peeps around. I have 6x9's in the back too...most people on here don't like that! HA!
Interesting build, never seen that done before. . . but that is a hell of a way to get all the sound into the cab! Very nice.
Thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
seems decent. why are bp boxes tuned so high??? wait nvm just came to me. loogs good. does the arm rest go up with the port there? if it did it would be a great way to scare the crap out of a lot of ppl. get a good song like late nite tip or something where the bass kicks in after like a 30 secs. then BOOM the arm rest plops down and they piss themselves LOL looks good. are those type x's or type r's?
LOL, yeah man that would be pretty funny! Gonna have to try that and see if I can get it to pop open.
They're type x's. Got them for VERY cheap and honestly are the best subs I've ever owned. Granted that's probably not saying much, as the last subs I owned were RF Punch HX 2, then Punch DVC, then just reg old Punchs...yeah...huge difference about 9 years makes. I'm very happy though with the way things turned out.
really?
drill hole in center.
take piece of wood, mark off the radius needed from point to point.
drill 1 point as center, drill other as other end.
put screw through hole in center
spin in circle.
cmon, you know better than that.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif Yeah yeah yeah, I was actually in a rush and that's what happens when you're in a rush. Things get half assed. Really wanted to get to bed, probably should've just saved it for the next day. Only had two days off and wanted to get the box done in those two days. I think next time maybe I won't use so much wood glue, takes forever to dry.
I am a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif about the holes...tee hee
I hate cutting holes. Period.
I've used air saws and jigsaws... air saw cut through the MDF like butter, but the blade would not stay straight. So I had weird angled cuts.
The Jigsaw was a piece of crap and the blade kept falling off... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I'm buying a router with my next pay check. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif
But BP's always seemed inefficient to me. But, if you like it, you like it.
The last bandpass that I had, it was 2 12" punch dvc's and it was loud...very sloppy, but loud. It was ported through the rear deck of my last vehicle. I've never heard a bandpass like this though. It's so clean it really confuses me. It's just as clean as my sealed box, but it's wayyyyyyyyy louder.
I honestly though this box was probably going to sound like SH!T, very peaky. Not the case though!
Nice job! I never figured Germanys audio scene to be all that big. I have some relatives in Frankfurt and Dresdan.
Well, my subs were purchased from an American that just got back from a tour in Korea, never really got to use 'em...the rest of my stuff is from sonic electronics or knu.
The german audio scene really isn't that big, and most shops are just crazy with what they charge. 300 euro for a SEALED ENCLOSURE...what a joke. Not too many Germans bumpin'...it's actually quite nice, LOL.
