'95 Caddy Deville - 2 Fi Qs, Custom Trunk

reminds me of a four door ghetto caddy we did for stephen jackson when i was at custom sounds.

flagged trunk, motorized 5th wheel, 22's, bagged, candy everywhere, it was a nice ride. i kind of miss being an installer, but there are so little installers in the area and everyone knows each other. which leads to a bunch of trouble when you start moving up, people think they are passed up for whatever stupid reason.

Can you tell more me about cutting the rear deck lid to allow more bass in? i have a 99 caddy deville with 2 12's, alpine type x's ported. and the bass is trapped in the trunk like you said. i have the subs facing the the rear now towards the backseat. when you turned the box around, did it make a big difference? i'll turn my box around if it did. help me out on how to get more bass in. imagine how quiet it is for me with 2 12's and you have 2 15s. this is the only reason i don't like cadillacs lol.

Well I'll tell you in all of my other experiences facing the box backwards towards the trunk produces the best bass, but when your box is so big that it blocks off the bass then you have a problem on your hands.

If you think about it, bass is waves of pressurized air, and if the displaced air has nowhere to escape it ends up simply rattling the back of your car and you get little in the cabin.

If your box is too big, your only solution might be to turn it around. However, if your box isn't that big and it's simply a matter of getting the bass into the car, then you can either fold the seats down (if you can), port the rear deck, or cut a hole behind your center armrest.

Hope that helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Do you have any pics of your trunk?
If you want to hear it sometime let me know man Perrin Beitel's not too far of a drive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have pics of it in various stages of completion:

Oh, and I hooked up with bigjon over at SSA in San Marcos and got metered, I scored a 142.3 on music (Put On, slowed down) sealed on the windshield //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's not the loudest system in the world but it's not bad for stock electrical I guess //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What about the port on the rear deck? I've been wanting to do that with my Marquis but I'm not real sure how to go about it.

Nice score. Stock electric ftw. haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

The cut seems to be pretty easy to make. I'm just wondering what to do so I don't just have a hole there. The part I was thinking about cutting is an oval about the size of my 6x8s. perhaps a little smaller.
