92 civic door speaker depth

I am thinking of putting the CDT ES 06+ in the door has any one had a problem with midbass drivers being to deep or hitting the door pannel with excursion. I really like the thought of what these are capable of but not if it means I need to cut my door pannels and do fiberglassing to them to make them fit. Thanks guys hope some one can help.

those need to be in enclosure's. And they can't be any weak enclosure either. They move a lot of air. If your going to produce a good sound of any midbass your going to want in an enclosure, but with these specific they absoluty need to be in an enclosure.

And im 100% certain it will hit your door panel it has 15mm of xmax.. it hits the grills in my car and i thought they were helllllllla far away...

hmm I wonder if I am better off making door pannels or kick pannels........ to enclose them if I went with the ) 6+. So how do you like yours what are you running for tweeters and sub stage?

well, in Kris's car, he had to use a .75" MDF baffle to clear the window, and now he only has like .25-.5 of an inch clearance with his panel

I would do door pods and kick pods honestly. I would do doorpods to hosue the 06+ and then i would do kick pods and run the es-02 with the es-4's. If you have the ability to do that then I would.

I run es-02 and es-06+ off two 300/4 amps. I have another 75x2 left over for the es-4's when i order them. Right now they are run active off the alpine 7995 and 300/4 settings. But once i order the es-4's I will order like a coustic 3 way xover. Until i can afford an alpine h701.

The stock door pods that my 06 mustang has **** ... they flex pretty bad. I will be going through it with fiberglass and fixing that problem as well as possibly angling the 06+ mounts and glassing those out or something. the es-02 are mounted in the 6x8 location and thats where the es-4 will go as well.

You will be happy with 2 way as long as you set it up properly. If you do not set it up correctly then you will think it is because you should have gone 3 way instead. But really your problem will be the install. It is crucial here.
