I'm looking for a decent 8" sub to mount on my rear deck in the stock location where an 8 should fit on my 06 Charger. I am looking for something to give NE the mid bass range I am missing from my current setup.

Pioneer AVH4400BH

Memphis 3.5"s in the dash(head unit pushing them)

Memphis 6.5" components in the front doors

Memphis 6x9's in the rear deck

Pushing the already crossed doors & deck speakers is a JL jx360

1 kicker 12" CompVr12

SSL 1500M amp pushing the sub.

I would like to have a 8" sub that can handle at least 125w rms+

I was looking at kicker compD, Sundown sa8 , Memphis 15MCR8D4.

I know this will require an additional amp which is a given but haven't gotten that fat yet.

How will these do in a free air setup?

Opinions, Suggestions? What you recommend? Please anything will help.

Thanks in advance,

B

Yea no, you already have a 12" sub dont put an 8" sub. Your looking for midbass drivers not subwoofers. Look at parts express for midbass drivers or a jl zr 8. Idk if theyll do well in free air. Why mot build a little enclosure for it

Thanks I'll look into the jl and also mid bass drivers instead of sub.

Well I ended up buying a midbass driver. 8" MMats s exactly what I needed and it sounds great with no cancellation. Thanks for pointing me into the midbass driver direction. Here's a pic of it before it went into the car.

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too
