Alright I have an 8" sub opening on my 06 mustang in the doors as well a 4" and i would like to put horns/tweeters. What would be a good setup? im thinking these mb quarts http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12143

with what 8" bass sub would you guys reccomend? Theres only a 3.5" mounting depth.

Could i add these on to those compenents ?

Or should i add somethign on like a 6.5 and just make a mounting plate for this http://www.mbquart.com/en/produkte/car/qline/produkt.php?nr=qsd_164

From what I've heard, that 8" opening is not very deep at all, so it'll be very difficult to get a true 8" sub in there. Are you willing to have a sub in the truck with an 8" midbass up front??

Oh yeah well I am goign to either be running an mt10 at 1.5cubes or an mt12 at 3 cubes in teh trunk. So im looking for my front stage setup. Would an 8" be better or should I use the 6.5" cone which might fit better due to the depth of the hole. Theres a 4" in the door panel thats mounted on a plate made for a 6x8 or 5x7. So i was going to put the tweeter next to the 4" inside the plate if i can make it fit. otherwise imma move it up a little bit.

I believe the depth for the 8 is around 3.5", which will fit a number of different 8" mids.

For the 8" midbass, take a look at the Dayton Reference RS225 (4 ohm version) at partsexpress.com. The Dayton Refs are very popular with the DIY crowd. More info at diymobileaudio.com forum.

For the midrange, lots of options...the Peerless Exclusive 4" is supposed to be a great little driver. npdang tested this on DIY.

For the tweet, an LPG 25nfa is a very good option. Great off axis extension, nice smooth realistic sound.

Of the three, I've only used the 25nfa, but I do have a set of the RS225s at home waiting to be installed in the truck, so I did put my money where my mouth is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

http://www.diymobileaudio.com and check out the forum. LOTS of other options listed on there.

You could get all of those for around $250 shipped and have a setup (if set up correctly) that will rival the best pre-made 3 way component sets.

omg i cant take it ne more being a noob, what is the diff between active and passive? i searched but get gay stuff with google. Link would be great or if it something simple if u could post.

I'd go for BG Neo3s for tweeters and the Peerless XLS 8" midbass vs the other options, but keep the Usher //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The XLS has 10mm+ xmax vs 6mm for the Dayton Ref
