727kid's Build Log

Never heard all the high end ID stuff. I wanna hear your car sometime.
It's about basic as this set up can get right now, but I think it sounds pretty good, minus some staging issues I need address with the horn locations. If your down in St. Pete sometime hit me up.

Not too much more but finally got the passenger horn about as good as it will get.

New mount

It can't get too much further over... maybe .75" if I bend the connectors

I also got time to move from LOC from the rear speakers to the front. The stock system will cut down the rear speakers at 2/3rds volume and it got extremely annoying. Issue solved.

So, do horns just get really loud? They are fine down so low and pointed at your legs?
Let's put it this way... ran passive, and the horns no where as low fq as they can be playing, it is more than loud enough for tailgating. I been taking my car out to the USF games and playing it, only the the horns and the mids. Last week, at a good 75 yards away in the pisser I could hear my car still (not much but still some) with other cars playing there music. Inside the car is just dumb loud... and the best part is it sounds excellent... not like a bunch of eminence thrown together.

And like he said, the soundstage is up top. I'm having problems with my centering, but that is being fixed!

I got around to finishing up the drivers side horn. I manned up and removed the parking brake. I thought it would be a lot worse than it was. It was just 3 bolts and a little bit of muslce to remove the cable from the unit. Sound stage seems immediately fixed, will update with how it is in a few days when I can drive around more. Didn't get many pics, camera was dead but here it is finished. This is the stronger mount to date for the horn, I could literally kick the horn hard and it wouldn't budge. Also I know for a fact I could go to full body horns... so that may be in my future.

I got my MS8 in and installed. Awesome piece of equipment. First day I was skeptical, I rushed the install and it wasn't optimal at all. Volume was low, sound was off, pretty disappointed. Re-installed it correctly today, set my gains low before tune and turned them up after and we are in business! The best part about it is you can defeat the processing to see what it is like without any... WOW, how did I listen to it before? Mids are blowing my doors off and it tamed the horns like nobodies business. Would show pics, but it is so ugly right now I won't even show it lol. I am waiting on Kicker to stop bullshitting around and send me my amp, then I will start designing an amp rack and clean it all up.
