4 subs and 2 amp wiring question

Just bagged 4 15'' SPLX 15's to replace my Mofo's. They are Dual 2's. I'm wanting to throw at least 1000 watts to each of them, maybe a little more. My question is, I know they can be wired down to 1 or 4 ohms. And I'm about to buy two amps, and wire them down so each amp is playing at 1ohm. Can I do this? Or would I need two .5 or 2ohm stable amps? Thanks

You're not going to get a 1 Ohm or a 4 Ohm load out of a pair of DVC 2 Ohm drivers.

Not gonna happen.

Or would I need two .5 or 2ohm stable amps?
Yup.

you can get two .5 ohm amps, or one HUGE 1 ohm amp or two 2 ohm amps. One HUGE amp like a hk4000 or something or 802sx would be efficient. I think your two pa3000s might run at half if you keep them down.

I have 4 of them, not two.
I'm aware of this - but you were talking about running two subs per one amp hence my remark about a pair (a pair equalling two of something) of DVC 2Ohm subs. As such my previous post stands as stated.

Are you saying the only way to wire them is to wire each pair to each amp and run a .5 or 2ohm load on each amp?
No - that isn't the only way to wire them by far. However, if you still intend on doing what you stated originally which is run a pair of subs off of one amp - which would equal two amps running 4 subs - then 1/2 Ohm or 2 Ohms is going to be how you'd want to do it.

just go with one big amp and run all 4 at 1 ohm otherwise you have to get 2 amps and run them at 2 ohms for each pair of subs

i think you should just get a ma4000hk or the 802sx and then make sure your electrical can keep up with it

But aren't the HK4000's and 802sx's rated at 17volts? I'm going to be running a 300amp alt and a couple Optima Yellow tops or similar. I plan on keeping my electrical at 14.4, so would those amps still work? I need a amp putting out at least 4K watts, perferablly a little more.

Check out the Massive Audio P3000.1 that would work out pretty well if you could run a pair of those since it puts out its power @ 2ohms, or look at the kicker ZX series monoblocks. If memory serves those are 2 ohm amps also. if you want to run 2 amps that is. if not RF T4000 will work if you just want to run 1.
