Yes wire them in parallel by sides. It will put a 2 ohm load on the amp and you will lose fader (front-rear) adjustment.

But will running the 4 ohm speakers on a 2 ohm load amp run correctly

The speakers are what they are. That cannot change. The amp only "sees" the load you present it. The amp can handle a 2 ohm load. It is fine.

youll be fine its not what the speaker can run at its about what the amp can handle, notice 2 4 ohm subs can run at 1 ohm? running the amp on a 2 ohm load will boost the power a little which youll need since your running 2 speakers per channel so the rated power will be divided by 2.
