4 Sealed vs 2 Ported.

I got my amp(orion 2500d) and now it is time for subs, I am going with the premier spls, I will like to know if 4 of them sealed would have a similar spl as 2 of them ported.I am pretty sure the sealed would have outstanding sq right? Thanks for any input.

two dual 4 ohms subs will wire down to 1 ohm. two dual 2 ohm subs will wire down to .5 ohms. Im pretty sure the 2500D will handle .5 daily. I dont know if your subs will take that much power though. What exact model are they?

From my experience, the Premier SPL series subs really do not perform well in sealed boxes. I'd rather have the two ported.

Well if I was goin to do 4 I would buy the dual 4 ohm model, if I was goin to 2 I was goin to get the dual 2 ohms, so I can use the amp to it fullness. How are these premier subs? If I get the 2 ohm model that is be sending 2500 watts a piece if the a .5ohms right? Do subs sound that good when getting that much wattage? Thanks any help.

No.

Get the dual 4 models, so you are running the amp at 1 ohm. Not trying to be harsh, but just judging by your post im *guessing* you do not have a stable enough electrical system to SAFELY run the 2500d at .5ohm. And no, it will not send each sub 2500w a piece.

Example:

Single amp, 400 rms @ 2 ohm

1 sub wired to 2 ohm - 400 rms

2 subs wired to 2 ohm - 200rms EACH

4 subs wired to 2 ohm - 100rms EACH

Etc. The above is assuming you have the appropriate coil configs.
