$300 Budget Build

Hey OP I might have what you need. I have some stuff for sale. The amp is a JBL BP300-1 that does 300x1@2 ohms, has great reviews and it's a bit underrated for sure. The sub is a Arc Audio 12" Arc12d4 dual 4 ohms so its perfect for the JBL amp since it puts out max power at 2 ohms. Its also a perfect sub for the enclosure specs you've given. I have a fuse holder and 8 gauge power wire, ground and maybe a good set of rca's. I just put this stuff up for sale on a local thread. ww.caraudio.com/forums/wanting-trade-wtt-car-audio/597312-so-cal-trade-thread-31.html

nvm it was gone a long time ago, go ahead with which ever amp you want that can do power at 2 ohms. PPI ion is fine so is the kenwood.
I went ahead and ordered yesterday morning around 4-5am central time. I bought it off of sonicelectronix, but my order is still processing. How long does it typically take to ship? I've never had this slow of service with an online retailer. It's now been exactly 24 hours.

the processing takes an unusually long time compared to amazon and crutchfield, the shipping would depend, since i'm in california, the shipping time is within a day or two, it will be longer since you are farther, idk how much longer. The processing took several days for me though.

You should get it within a week to a week an a half.

Wow, said it would arrive Tuesday. Can't beat free shipping though. I'm just worried it's taking so long because of a payment problem - would I be notified immediately if there was a payment problem? Or would it still sit in processing until it gets looked at? Like, since it's still processing does that mean its hard plenty of time to be declined, so its probably still active?

they should tell you within two days if there's a problem.

NOTE - I am very limited with money currently - I know it takes a quite a bit of money to be satisfied with this hobby and to do things properly. But nevertheless, this will still be an upgrade from my first few attempts.
I just needed either ONE sub, with a ported box, and an amp - OR - TWO subs with a sealed box, and amp.

I think I'm leaning towards a Infinity Reference 1262w or a PPI SN.12

This is the PPI SN.12 box specs

Minimum Sealed Box Volume 1.0 cubic feet

Optimum Sealed Box Volume 1.25 cubic feet

Minimum Ported Box Volume 1.5 cubic feet

Optimum Ported Box Volume 2.0 cubic feet

This is the Reference box specs ,

Minimum Sealed Box Volume 1.25 cubic feet

Optimum Sealed Box Volume

Maximum Sealed Box Volume 1.25 cubic feet

Minimum Ported Box Volume 2.0 cubic feet

Optimum Ported Box Volume

Maximum Ported Box Volume 2.0 cubic feet

and as you can see , very similar. I'm kinda leaning on the sn.12

Pair of Infinity Reference 1262W (REF1262W) 12" Dual 4 ohm Subs

Precision Power PPI SN.12 12" Sedona Car Subwoofers

ONE of those, in this box

2 Cu. Ft. Custom-Ported MDF Subwoofer Enclosure for 12" Round Sub (2.0 @ 32Hz)

2.0cf, 32hz 1 1/4 MDF front baffle - prefab but looks pretty decently constructed

OR go a bit of a different route in terms of the box and put TWO of either the Infinity or PPI (because I'm on a strict budget) in this box

Dual 12" Sealed Car Subwoofer 3/4" MDF Enclosure/Box 2.46 Cu Ft

yes I know, a **** poor prefab. But for a sealed application, there's not much to them. And for $50 bucks it will hold me over until I can get some real gear.

So regardless if I used 1, or 2 subs, I would use this amp MB Quart ONYX OA750.1 750 Watt RMS Mono Car Amplifier Amp W/ Bass Remote | Audio Savings and just run 1 sub @ 4 ohm, and if I decided to run 2, I would run them @ 2 ohms.

So tl;dr im on a budget, and want a set up that can get as loud as the resources I have allow me to get, just need a system to listen to until I can get a real build.

If you guys see a better alternative set up that can be done for not a dime over $300 let me know. I KNOW that isn't a lot to work with, but there are still options - and I want to make sure i'm getting the best one until I can get a real set up going.
May have a cousin willing to sell a mint Skar vvx 10" V1 for rd $50... I was OG buyer ran 3 on a Skar 2500. He bought over 2 years ago used on AP amp for few weeks then wanted trunk back. Sitting ever since. Coils bright and reads right. OG box and paper still there. These are the V1's that Jacob designed for Kevin. That means the best ones they well ever make. PM if interested think amps still around also not sure on model but its the mini AP as he was a cheap arse Id say rd $50 also.....

Also, owned a ONXY 125.4 if they still make them still. Used for a few weeks did decent power. Got hot hot never shut off but hot nonetheless.. Sold cause I needed more power and something with better cooling. As the ONXY was ALL plastic... I mean I think it had a 2" strip of metal on front of amp but that was it. Weighed nothing and just felt mehhh. I mean it was cheap so cant complain but switched to a Sun 100.4d and it was night and day.

You'd be under budget with that

You could probably do an hds312 and be just over your budget

Edit: forgot your budget included an amp. Depending on how much you spent you might still get close is still say an hds212 and just get a prefab box for now then

lol you guys are funny.

If the OP has no intentions of building his own proper ported, he's not gonna get anywhere with these other single 12 or 10 builds.

Box design is important for the brands we normally use and if the guy can only go with prefabs and he wants loud and cheap, best to do lots of cone area sealed with efficient woofers.

When op mans up and builds his own ported boxes, then we can suggest our "go to brands." Most of our brands need a well designed, and big box with specific amounts port area to get truly loud and even then, i'd pit your single 12/10 against a pair of 15s sealed anyday when it comes to output.

He said he would have one built he just doesn't have the money. Not everyone has the tools and knowledge to make a box

how hard is it to follow a simple cutout sheet/blueprint, go to home depot buy the wood and have the guys there make all the cuts for you, take it home and glue&screw. Have a neighbor/relative/friend with a jigsaw cut the hole, man was that soooooooooo daaaaamn hard.

designs here.

Here's one of the members that had zero clue on what he's doing and he followed the design on there ^^^ with zero woodworking experience and basically almost zero tools. He was reluctant and wanted to do the prefab route but he went ahead and tried it and he's loving his setup because he tried and succeeded.

The problem isn't I can't, or don't know how, I just don't want to at the moment. The main issue is time. Right now, I just needed something quick and easy on the wallet, and get the maximum output for it. When I have the money for real equipment I'll get a proper box.

on a side note, I know of NO ONE with any tools.
