3-way comp set or 2-way?

I had posted a question, and somebody mentioned going three way. Now, I have never even considered this. I am still somewhat of a NOOB when it comes to tuning and such, used to just hook things up, and try to make them as loud as possible. That was the past lol I am now trying to get the most out of what I have. Should a NOOB stay clear of a three way set? Are they much advantage over a 2-way set. I've got the monsoon sound system in my car as we speak (2000 ***** am) and it actually sounds pretty good, but i still want better. There are a number of 2-way sets in consideration, but should I also be considering a 3-way set?

It is easier to setup and install a 2way set, but a 3 way set sounds better. I have a 3way passive (uses crossover) and am now going to two way active. I could reccomend some sets but some would say I am biased.

3 way can be better if installed right but if installed wrong there would be no advantages over a well installed 2 way. 2way is much easier and less costly too.
