2OHM DVC wireing help please

First off.... a single subwoofer that is dual 2ohm voice coils cannot be wired to show .5ohms of resistance. You have two options wired in series it will be a 4ohm load, or wired in parallel to make it a 1ohm load. follow this link http://www.bcae1.com/srsparll.htm and wire the sub like the diagram for "Speakers in parallel" to wire the sub to 1 ohm.

It shows two seperate subs, but just think of each sub being a voicecoil.

If you had a second DVC 2ohm sub then you could achieve .5ohms, but not with one sub.

OK my next question would be then IF i run both subs on one amp at .5 ohms would i get more power/efficency OR would it be better to run both amps at 1 ohm.?

i have 2 Audio Art HC50's (amps)

2 , 2 ohm 1208T audiobahn 12" subs ( much better then i ever expected for SQ AND SPL) but i would like to get the most power that i can with what i have right now, as money comes in i will be upgrading my amps to most likly 2 1000w mono block amps or possibly 2 1500w mono blocks.
