Weird, maybe the people who are pm'ing you dont know how to set gains properly or wire a sub. Honestly, if you know what your doing, it doesnt matter what sub you have. Pm Nick, he may be able to give you a better price, but by saying "if i dont get a better price i will go with something else" is pretty lame.Unless I get a really good deal on that sub I don’t know if I am going to buy it. I am getting PM'd like crazy with a bunch of people who have owned IA's and their telling me horror stories. I am an Optimistic person, and so I will give the benefit of the doubt that most people here like to abuse the heck out of their subwoofers, and I don’t hit it with anything more than rated RMS, but I don’t compete either LOL.
Just FYI for Nick but some people are telling me to avoid IA. I don’t know why, but I am always one to prove people wrong.
A little extra glue on the dust cap does not scare me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Its hand built! I’m all for the More than not enough. The extra glue would let me point out "its hand built”!
When I go showing it off... just I am a bit scared to be sinking close to half a Grand on a subwoofer after getting PM'd with what I got told.
Quality is top notch, custom tooled a lot of parts. Built great. Subwoofers are great, and take a beating. Customer service is simply amazing, you can actually get ahold of Nick, and you usually end up talking to him... not other people.Man.. I think this is me dawg..
A 21" in woofer, only needing about 7.5-8 cubes of volume. Its perfect!
By gosh I have found what I have been looking for, and IA has it. Now before I buy this subwoofer!
How good is IA's quality ? Their subwoofers ? Customer Service ?
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifmeh.. its okay customer service is good.. i wouldnt buy anything but the 20.1, 40.1 from them
Some people just don't know wtf they are doing... not to mention he got taken care of.The op was asking for a personal opinion so i gave one. From my own experience i am not so much impressed. Especially with the manufacture problems dave had with them. Nothing against IA. just stating my opinion per op post.
+1 for you and you wonder why your buying 2 blown IA 21"woofers
Custom built KingOfBass edition 12's... take a slamming from all the 20.1's and near 160dB's of bass constantly... absolutely no failures in the softparts ever...IA FOR THE LOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jk i have no experience with IA although i wanted to run the 21, but the 21's they took so **** long to come out so i said fuhhk it.
im curious if there have been any cone rocking issues with the 21s
what IA woofers do mckinnie use??
n00bx getting their hands on them... what's new? Also, as for the older DP, you want something similar to a modded TC9... or a newly completely redesigned, partially custom tooled subwoofer?my opinion rather from my previous comment, i'd try them no problem.. i have the space and i'm sure i could get the power.. but with all the ones i've seen blown already and people trying to sale them for cheap.. I have to ask.. why bother for fear of the same thing happeneing?
All in all, the company is awesome.. I like the older DP sub and I wish they would still make it.. just because but.. to each their own.
Why? I mean, you're an engineer right? You understand the properties, performance, geometry, characteristics? Why? You've done some FEA and real would testing of 3" vs. 4" right?Ok let me start out by saying that I really like IA's products.. I own two IA 40.1's and have owned 2 12" DP and never had a problem with anything... BUT in my opinion I think the 21" sub should atleast have a 4" coil to control that huge cone... I think a 3" is just to small ... ANything larger then a 18" should come standard with atleast a 4" coil.. I know this will up the price but in the end it may be worth it...
Yeah, real scientific and engineer type analysis there... lolIt does but look at it as trying to set book on top of a bottle of pop or setting it on top of a can of pop... It is alot more stable on the can as it is a bigger base for the book to balance on... as for the bottle the book will be easier to tilt and alot less stable... Plus with a larger coil u get more power handling and alot more surface area around the former for that triple joint to hold on to
Post the comments, I'm interested...Unless I get a really good deal on that sub I don’t know if I am going to buy it. I appreciate the information.. Ive seen Nicks subs out here forever, and you know how it is when you ready to slide the card on something. You start investigating everything. It's not just this one guy who is messaging me about the subject but two people who are\owned the subs and refferences to other members who had problems. It scares you when your going to spend that much money on a subwoofer LOL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifTheir products are top notch, and on brtnboarder3241 statement, not sure what that is about. I am sure he has never had one or heard one.
Me on the other hand, I have the Lethal Injection and its by far one of the best subs I ever had. I had a FI Q before, but did not have the recommended power for it (1000rms), the LI on the other hand only needed 600rms, and i had more on tap. So it balances out perfectly, I am glad I got the Lethal Injection, and the customer service is amazing, thanks Nick for taking care of me.
did not say IF ...Weird, maybe the people who are pm'ing you dont know how to set gains properly or wire a sub. Honestly, if you know what your doing, it doesnt matter what sub you have. Its either you want it or not, and if you pm Nick, I am sure he would help you out, he even said to pm him and he can work something out. As to my previous post, my Lethal Injection rocks, and IA has earned a customer for life. When i get a truck, i have a special setup in my mind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif:crazy: All IA baby!!!
I know what you mean, and its understandable that your asking for opinions, which is always good, want to get both sides.I appreciate the information.. So Im starting to feel a lot better.
I will just see for myself how Nick takes care of me, and leave my faith in him as well as GOD that the right decision will be made.
