Got a buddy who has an 07 stang and we are looking to just add an amp and sub to his setup. Is there any RCA's I can use out of the stock head unit or do I need to use high level inputs or a converter to RCA? He has the upgraded sound system on his "Shaker 500". THx for any advice!

you're gonna need a line out converter unless the amp in question has speaker level inputs. there has yet to be any factory decks that come with rca inputs.

Hmm, I think there are some Scion's with factory RCA's outputs? I wasn't sure if ford was doing this also. I have a stinger line level converter laying around.

Edit: Looks like Scion is doing it.

The xB truly focuses on youth with its new standard AM/FM/CD/USB 160-watt maximum output Pioneer audio system. New features for 2010 include an organic electroluminescent (OEL) screen, iPod/USB connectivity, Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR), and a subwoofer RCA output. The standard Pioneer system features a USB port and universal auxiliary (AUX) port located on the center console that allows users to listen to their portable music collection through the xB’s six Pioneer speakers.

I haven't had the pleasure to work on any of the newer scions yet...

Alright, I retract my statement and will say that 99% of factory radio's will not come equipped with rca inputs.

Yes, you can tap into the rear speakers. Just make sure where you tap into is after the factory amp since he has the shaker500.

Would probably make the most sense to just tap into the existing sub wires, tho imo.

Where hell is the sub at? I didnt really look around in his car. Looks like he has some fairly large speakers up front.
