2005 Pontiac G6 build log

Ok guys, I have started working on my car a couple f weeks ago, it has been a very slow process because I am working a ton of hours but soon it will go much faster.

The vehicle is a 2005 pontiac g6 that I bought for a daily driver, I want to do a loud semi loud daily set up with all of the provisions to get much louder with minimal effort.

Here is a list of current equipment that might or might not be going into the project depending on if I change direction during the build.

electrical will consist of stock 140 amp alternator until I can find a company that makes a high output for this car (let me know if you know of an option). 1 Optima yellow top under hood, and 2 in trunk. Big 3 upgrade with 1/0 gauge hyper flex, 2 runs of 1/0 for power, 1 run from ground on battery under the hood.

stock head unit to keep the stock look.

JL clean sweep for interface,

precision power deq-230 for front stage,

infinity kappa perfect 6.5" component system for front stage,

infinity kappa perfect 5.25" components for rear fill,

for front stage amp I have a precision power pc4100 but might have to use my jl 300/4 due to space limitations,

sub amp is a us amps usa-2000,

sub is a DD 9515 I think it is the b motor, I might go with a more sq type of sub stage, I would like to do 3-4 8's.

If I do run the 9515 for a while I will run at about 3.5 cubes @36-38hz.

The car... has about 32k miles, pretty clean.

got the trunk gutted to get ready for deadener.

started tapping into stock wiring for the clean sweep, will take signal out of stock amp so I do not loose on star and other stuff.

Here is the amp rack that will be mounted behind the rear seats.

cover will be wrapped in vinyl with plexi

i used 4 distro's because i might add another usa-2000. I want to change my subs though, i was thinking 3 DD 1508's

i will get some pics up soon of under hood.

if anyone has deadener for sale please let me know, I will buy today.

I finished up running my wires and started the big 3 today. I will get photos up later tonight when I get hom from work or tomorrow morning. I also started putting together something to hold the batteries. I am thinking just a box built of MDF mounted to the side of the speaker box. I also decided I am not going to waste the wood on building a box for the 9515. I picked up 2 sheets of 1" MDF today for 80 bucks and will start a box soon. I might order some 1508's this week.

I know what you mean, the thought did cross my mind but I wasnt sure if I wanted spl or sql... still am not sure, will figure out subs soon.

Ok guys, I have been out for a while, I work in the produce industry and have been pulling an average of 16 hours a day 6 days a week. S needless to say my build has been on the back burner. I have done a little more today though and figured I would give an update.

I mounted up my front stage amp today. I decided to mount it in the spare tire well because my sub amp will take up the space behind the seat. I also used the spare tire well for the clean sweep. Its just a 3/4" painted piece of MDF.

I also dropped a yellow top in and a fuse block, I have both runs ready but because of limited space I will have to mount the other fuse block on the other side of the engine bay.

The other fuse block will be mounted above where the wire is temporarily tied off.

My next step will be finishing up the big 3, then doing the deadener and comp install. I have a buddy that wants to sell me a brand new set of the kicker ss 6.5" comps (ss65.2) I have never worked with these, how do you guys think they compare to the infinity's?

i hope thats enough electrical for a 2000x...looks nice
