I'm bout to get my impala back pretty soon, so i need to start looking into a system. I figure i could have about 2k total for a system so what would you recommend???

Yeah this is my project car. I bought it for 2k got a new engine and transmission put in (well almost done) an next i wanted to accumulate a system piece by piece so when i get the interior an paint redone i can already have all the pieces.

Well you could get a pretty kickass system for 2000.

I would check into some internet brands for subs. Look into RE,Treo,Brhama,DD or you could go mainstream and hit up the Alpine type R. Sorry had to put that in lol!

For amps If it was me I would check into the orion 2500d. I am sure you could get a good refurbished one online somewhere. Highs I would check into the Diamond Hex's. Decently priced I think and sound very good. Look into some good sound deadner to. I had a 64 impala with switches and my trunk rattled from that, lol! So deaden the crap out of it. Good luck!

yeah i heard the type r's they bang pretty hard... if i was to get that 2500d though, would i need to get another battery or alternator upgrade, or could i get away wit the big 3

Well that is a beefey *** amp. If it was me doing it with that amp I would upgrade the altenator to no less than 200a. Only other thing is try to do the big 3 and see. But if you are thinking of getting the type r's I wouldnt get that amp. Unless you are getting more than 2.

I have only heard the stuff they sell at regular stores, that's why i'm asking yall. Well you could get a pretty kickass system for 2000.

Not always lol, my system is around that cost and its loud and sounds good but thats just a hu a amp and 2 subs lol I dont have any comps running yet :0)

If you go used online you can get a good system for 2k with no problem but if you went new to a store or something your gona get ***** bad. I am running 2 12w6v2's of a kicker sx1250.1 and it sounds amazing very loud and very good sq in a nice sealed box that doesnt take up alot of space in a large suv. If it was in a car it would be insane how loud they can get.
