i got my mind set on an alpine or eclipse right now for the hu.... but still don't know about:

amp: totally dependant on subs

JL 300/4 for highs

JL 500/1 for sub

JL 12 or 13W7 for bass

whatever head unit, too many choices.

The hex's are good speakers, as already mentioned. I like JL XR's though for the money.

EDIT: I don't follow american prices that much... but you might be able to go with a 1000/1 and like two 10W7's or if you wanted, you can get like three W3v2's... W3's are the best bang for the buck sub out there, IMHO.

Yea probably like 4 of those type r's on the 2500d would pound hard, its hard to bring a lot of bass into the front of them cars to suit sum people. The best way to run the 2500d is to run a second battery. If u kno sombody who works at Best buy and they let u use their discount u can get those type r's for cheap around like 120 a piece. Definatley port the box.

Type R's sort of **** though. My original plan when starting my system was to run a 1000/1, and 3 10" type R's...

I wasn't happy. I sold the 1000/1, sold 2 of the type R's.. threw the remaining one in my gf's car. I bought a single 10W7 in the HO box, and a 500/1.

Sounds better than 3 type R's.

for the components i've decided on those dls- somethings (i'll have to go back an look)

as far as the subs go i don't really want to have to get another battery but i have a frat bro who work at an auto store who could get me a yellow top for $20:naughty: (he already got one for another one of my bruhs) I just didn't want to go through that hassle but hey you only live once!!!

i keep hearing RAVE REVIEWS about those xxx's maybe i'll grab one of those if i can find a 15 or 18 in decent shape (i think i read they are like $400)

i read they like huge boxes, but i don't know what kinda amp i would for that though...

i wanna go wit an alpine 9835-33-31 whichever one i find in good condition

Another option you can consider is 2 IDMAX 12s. I love mine, they sound clean and get loud as well and only need around 600-800w a piece. You can pick these up on the forums from $230-$300 depending on condition. But, the XXX are nice and if your going to get one, I would wait for the new ones cause I heard they are going to be sweet.
