2 Type R's box

Buddy of mine wanted me to hook him up with a system. Took all his cash-monies and bought a couple Type-R 12's, a 1500rms x1 Boss amp (lol, I know, but it was cheap and works), and built a 3 cu box ported to 33 Hz. He didn't want it carpeted so I just spray bombed it, oh well. It would've looked better if he had given me some extra to buy carpet.

Here's a couple pics.. it's pretty loud, I wish it was my setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Not bad at all, looks good! Boss doesn't make a great amp at all but if he's happy that is all that counts. When the amp goes poof, spend a little more and get a more durable amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Heh, with it being a re-furb I'm willing to bet it won't be especially long.

Still, a friend of mine is running a Boss Class-D or some crap like that and it's been good for the last like 2.5 years, he's pushing 2 Type R's, too.

Thanks, too.

construction looks good but if you ever rebuild try 4.8-5.2 cubic foot, 60-70 square inches of port and tune to 34 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah I got like 5 cubes after displacement ported at 34 but not too sure how much port area, I believe it's up there. I got measurements from a program. Sounds pretty good to me.

Yup, I would not even bother making it if it's to small, the output is terrible. Go with what he says /\/\

3 is ****ing tiny, even 3.5 was way to small..

Do you know what their Xmax is by any chance?

I would just go with a ported box tuned from 32 hz. - 35 hz.
