2 questions for you guys

O.K. I'm just getting into car audio and i've just installed my first system.

JVC head unit

clarion 6x9's (front)

stock speakers (rear)

sub: two RF Punch 10's They came in two truck boxes from the factory

sub amp: Kenwood 140 watts x 2

My first question:

My 10's can handle 200 watts peak and 100 rms

my amp putts out 140 x 2 is this too much power or not enough?

second question:

I know this system kinda sucks, so what can I do to improve it besides start over???

Oh yea I drive a 99 Dodge Ram Reg. cab (not much room)

The amp should be alright with the subs, just don't turn your gain controls up too far of they could distort and blow.

Only recommendation I could make other then starting over is puttin the subs in a ported box...but I would start over before I made a ported box for those subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

head unit is a JVC KD-S580

can't think of the amp right off hand

This system is'nt great, but i think its a good start. I personally like it but in about 6 months its gonna be replaced.

This is what i'm getting next:

2 RF Hx2 10's in a pair of truck boxes.

amp: not sure, what would you recommend?

I will probably keep the clarion 6x9's up front, don't know yet

as for the read speakers, i will either disconnect them or replace then with something better.

if he can fit them why not put the 6x9 in the rear? you never know, he might like rear fill.

but not before that other stuff, its more important considering hes not sitting in the back seat

yea i'll probably just forget the rear speakers. This summer i'm gonna get a Adire Tempest with a JBL bp 600.1 amp. I'll be using a ported box. i guess i'll put it behind the passenger seat because i can just move that seat way up. My gf can just sit close to me in the middle, and my boys can find another ride.

Can you guys think of any other place i can put a mediun sized box in a 99 reg cab Ram???
