light a couple smoke bombs in your trunk to see where air is leaking into the cabin.

wouldnt exactly use smoke bombs, some leave alot of residue, which would just be a *****.

too bad you dont have afog machine or access to dry ice

Yea...I just spent about 20 mins re-ensuring everything from the inside of the box was sealed up before I closed it and glued it all together, I'm gonna be using more expanding foam on the outside of the box now though to get it better sealed from the trunk to the cabin

hooked up the amp, set it to ~800 watts a piece...****. all I can say is shits loud. ports are blowing air like crazy...my whole dash though just vibrates like fvck at like 40hz+ though...i used to be able to just ignore it but now its to the point where its buzzing crazy loud and makes the bass sound like shit, so thats the next thing I'll be trying to get solved.

thank god it still kills the lows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I think I may have overestimated air space, or just built it a little smaller, cuz I didn't quite follow the plan to the dot, it ended up tuned somewhere between 35-40hz, not sure exactly where (i'm just guessing this based on excursion at 35hz and at 40hz being the smallest...not sure how good of a guess that is)

Definitely glad to have it up and running and very happywith my results so far, should be able to gain another .5-1.5 db through tuning/sealing I'd guess

you'll know if the trunk is leaky by if it is louder with the trunk lid open compared to closed. if there are no major air leaks, it'll be considerably louder with the trunk closed.

you're going to need to find some sort of way to seal it better, even if you think you've caught everything, you may still miss something here and there.

I'll be sealing it absolutely completely as much as i physically can, anywhere where there MIGHT be air leaking that I can access will be completely filled in/covered/engorged by expanding foam if I can reach it. I think I'll have it covered

if i stumble across some access to a fog machine I'll certainly test it out though

Won't show all the leaks like smoke would or something..but put a light in the trunk, shut it and in the dark look from the inside of your car to make sure your not missing anything big.

haha **** you got me there, if i had a couple hundred to blow i would just buy one, cuz NO ONE in my whole fn county seems to have one, i could make some money, charge people 10$ for half hour of playtime with it, just a little side cash, but i actually got fired from my job today so not happening anytime soon and my 2 mj18's plan is on hold till new job comes along

yea...i've been considering just buying one and getting it over with...but its a **** lot of money to put down...anyone in the sacramento area that has one...hit me up.
