If the entire system is set up and powered correctly, you won't need anything special (even remote gain) to get it to sound the way that you want. A properly set up SQ system will do exactly what you seek. You'll want a really dynamic front stage as well and a lot of power on tap for it, too."remote gain"; Is that like having an independent dial to ajust the base on your one sub channel? Because that's starting to make a lot more sense than toggling 2 seperate subs. I'm playing romantic period orchestra which requires both SQ and extreme SPL.
