2 2ohm subs to 1ohm?

Now I have two dual 2 ohm subs in seperate enclosures. Now the amp I have can only power 1 of the at 2 ohms, so I was wondering is there some crazy wiring that ca n be done to get the subs at 1 ohm?

If they are dual 2 ohms, then one of them can be wired at 1 or 4 ohms.

A pair of them can be wired at 0.5 or 2 ohms.

What amp are you connecting to them?

Yeah, you can't wire 2 Dual 2 ohm subs to a 1 ohm load, but maybe your amp can handle a 0.5 ohm load.

Or maybe the subs are actually Dual 1.4 (but they say Dual 2), in which case they could be wired to a 1.4 ohm load, which is close to 1.

Im using a powerbass ASA1000.1D and Ill be using two 10" ALpine Type-r Dual 2 subs.

so you already have the amp and the subs???

if so my opinion would be to sell the amp and buy a new one......

my vote.......kicker zx1000.1

just make sure u got about 1000 watts at 2 ohms not 1.... i dont know if the amp u have could go down to .5 ohms.... i doubt it but you could try..

If you have yet to buy the subs, get them in the dual 4 config, and wire them all in parallel for a final load of 1 ohm.

Already own them sadly. Well Im gonna see if my amp can run 0.5 stable then.
