2 18" in an explorer sport

well call it 6.5".....okay so lets go 41.5"X6.5"X26" at the wheel wells And over that will be 50"X17.5"X26".

so ((40X5.25X24.5)/1728)+((48.5X16X24.5)/1728)=~14cuft.

I calculated for a double baffle........good idea for 2 18's along with 1.5" thick ports.

so...... I'd go with a 22.5"X6" port with double thick walls and it comes out to be right at 20" long.

You'll have about 11.5 cubes after all displacements and you'll be tuned at about 33hz.

also I'd cut your front board (the one the port is on) 50X22.5, but notch it down .75" where the bottom board ends, and it will hide your wheel wells...... just to look better.

wouldnt this only give me 135^2" of port?

also what about this:

50"w X 24.5"d X 17.5" = 12.4 cubes

then use the remaining room between the wheel wells for the port:

6"h X 24.5"d X 40" wide = 3.4 cubes to play with and make it work as far as a port

edit: also do i have to double baffle everything? cant i just get by with a good amount of threaded rods?

really having second thoughts on getting the 2 18's.
it just might be less pain in the *** to build a good size box for 2 15's like fiverman said.
Two 15s = easier build & install

Two 18s = extra work up front but happier in the long run

IMO get the 18s or you'll regret it later.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif Just remember to measure your hatch opening to make sure your box will squeeze through it.

im basically an indecisive bitch. from the last post i made i have probably changed my mind about 3 times...

i am actually contemplating taking the rear seats out now...

hey i didnt give up yet lol. anyways dont know how accurate this calc from RE is ( i usually do it myself but if this calc is accurate i can do like 10x the ammout of ideas with no math involved) but here is another idea. the box would basically be 11 cubes after displacement (i believe the 18's take up roughly .2 cubes each?). what do you think? this is just a straight up box to, with no notches or anything else. it would be tuned to about 30hz.

seems like it would work. im liking your box design as well i want sexxx but i have no idea how to even start in calculating a box that is ANYTHING but a square or rectangle. if i knew how to include that **** notch into the equation i wouldnt even be asking for any help and bugging you dudes. but like i said im not sure how to do it, which is why i keep switching between 15's and 18's and never settle on anything due to limitations.
