Say that to Steve Meade who had 2 18's in his Civic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifBack to my previous statement.. its too big for the trunk and wont be as loud as two ported good 12's..
the waves wont pass into the cabin the right way. Your trunk will be LOUD but your cabin wont. Well not as loud as it could be. two ported 12's probobly would have been a better bet, but thats a sweet install dude!
please provide some factual evidence that what you are saying is true and your are not idiots. Thus far the two of you have done nothing but assume based on what you think is common sense but it just doesnt work that way. Bass as a whole is omnidirectional. So this bs about box height blocking the bass is just that bs. The reason he would be louder with two decent 12's ported has nothing to do with the box height but has everything to do with him owning entry level drivers and having them sealed.and i will go as far to say dont listen to this guy. somewhat he said is true. and sealed box more cone area may sound better to an certain point so dont go leading this guy down the wrong path. he may just go try to get 2 18" MTS one day putting them in 8 cubes sealed in his honda thinking he would be louder than using 2 10" BTLS ported. listen the facts remain and from experience and common sense. loook at it like this those 15s in his trunk is similar to you haveing an wall almost sealed off in an suv, BUT REAR FIRING! that wont be loud on the inside no would it?
Everyone learns somewhere, DJ at audioque told me to make sure theres plenty of room for it, and i agreeplease provide some factual evidence that what you are saying is true and your are not idiots. not yet and i was lookin for more output than what i have.. also what i'm lookin for is.. welll i dont really know how to explain it, but when i listen to alternative music or rock.. like MUSE or just somethin other than rap i hardly get any bass, unless i crank it.. maybe its the subs frequency that i need to change, i dont understand why its different..if by spend my time you mean be smart enough to click, "show all smileys" then yes, pretty funny. Its just annoying to see the "this can be louder then that" all the time, when this kid, who is 17 and just completed what looks to be a pretty good install, just keeps getting ragged on cause everyone on here is in the, "if it don't fit in a large ported box with enormous port area then its shit" mentality. If he wanted to dump alot more money (cause he already owns what he has) then yeah, he can get alot louder then he is now I am sure. But its pretty good as is.
To Civic96lx:
Two questions.
1. Did you fix that exposed wire I pointed out to you.
2. Are YOU upset in sound quality or output. Cause when it comes to sound, only YOU can decide if it is what you like.
Good Install otherwise.
That sounds like you're just lacking midbass which your subs won't really give you much of unless you have your crossover set way too high. Either that or your subs are out of phase with your mids so that frequency band that the two overlap in [again, your midbass region] is severely attenuated.not yet and i was lookin for more output than what i have.. also what i'm lookin for is.. welll i dont really know how to explain it, but when i listen to alternative music or rock.. like MUSE or just somethin other than rap i hardly get any bass, unless i crank it.. maybe its the subs frequency that i need to change, i dont understand why its different..
