2 12L7 4DVC Questions!

Alright guys, need some advice. I've got an offer on the table for 2 of the newer 12 L7's

(2) 12" Kicker Solobarics L7's S12l7's

Now here's where my concerns come in:

I have an 01 Mustang GT which has a really small, limited trunk.

I'm interested in getting really loud from time to time, but also having at least decent SQ for watching movies and listening to Jazz. I want to save as much trunk space as I can, but still get loud with decent SQ.

Do you guys think I should buy these for my Mustang? And what kind of performance will I get out of these with my limited trunk space?

I'd run just one of them with a couple 4" aeroports, I know that trunk and its tough to get stuff in and out of... maybe buy both and either run both sealed or port a single one of em and sell the other?

L7 =/= SQ...

trunk is too small for 2 l7s

L7s arent known for their SQ... but they will get loud sealed. I had 2 of the older ones sealed in the trunk of my lincoln on 300w each and it got decently loud, not comp loud, but you could tell they were back there.

Yeah, I know the L7's aren't known for their SQ, which is why I was thinking separate sealed boxes. I wasn't really looking for L7's, but I can actually get 2 for $200, hard to beat. Do the L7's even produce "decent" SQ?

on low clean power they dont sound too bad

mine didnt sound bad, my buddies dont sound bad, my solo x's didnt sound bad.... tune them mid 30's and you should be pretty happy, esp. at that price.

buy them for 200 and sell the one if u dont use it. i would want to make sure they work first. bring a dmm to check the coils and push down on the sub to make sure there is no issue as well. for that price u wana make sure they work if he beat the hell out of them who knows how long they will work for. i would ask what amp he had on them what box they where in and if he had any voltage issue. all this might seam like a lot but to b honest u just never know and even a deal that you will b geting could turn in to a headache real fast.

Yeah, I feel you. I posted the link there for you guys to check it out. Looking at the pics, they look to be in great condition. Of course I'll have dude hook them up to something and test them out.

Guess I got a lot to think about. I'm almost guaranteed to have to really come out the pockets for boxes. 10"s just might be better for this vehicle.

Don't get L7's for SQ, and they probably won't fit in your trunk properly.
