2 12 Type R's or 2 RE SR's?

Friend posed the question to me and im not really sure. He will have a Alpine Mrd-1000 in a sealed box (for now) and is looking for something that will hit hard and sound good for his rap songs.

Whats the difference between them?

(I had a type r 12, Pretty much know what they are about).

Type R's wouldn't be the best choice for a sealed box.
