Idyllic Enclosures
this is a project i started today. this is a 1994 s-10 blazer that will get all of its interior removed and sound deading applied. well for sound deading patrick from robotunderground suggested 1 part silicone 2 part caulk mixed 2gether with 60 grit sand for wieght. thats 2marrow and we will see how it works out. after sound deading the blazer i will build a enclosure for 4 15" brahmas. the enclosure will have a black high gloss finish, kerfed port and fiberglass on the inside, double baffle, and alot of internal bracing.

after subs and box are installed, the memphis mcd4k amplifier will be mounted just behind the front seats, along with 2 deep cycle batteries. then run all the power cables and speaker wire. install 3 componet sets. also the center console is hammer so i will do something to fix that up. also a 200 amp alt needs to be installed. there might be somethings i forgot.

well these are the pictures for today

2marrow sound deading..........

so i had to slap a enclosure together...3.5 cubes after sub and port displacement.

not bad for a couple hours. still breakin her in. but i know it going to get louder. anyone know what kinda sub ?

back to the blazer. well the plan was to use a mixture thats 1 part silicone, 2 parts chaulk, and 60 grit sand. i dont like nor would i suggest to anyone to use as sound deadening. way to messy, i had that shit everywhere but where i needed it to be. its very hard to get it to stick on the panels. i could only get it to leave a streak at first. to much sand so i added more caulk to get that shit sticky. that helped a bit but not enough. after an hour or so i desided to got to home depot and get some jiffy seal. in the past this stuff wouldnt stick when it got hot inside the car. so i got some $13 can of spray adhesive to spray first. this works pretty good. so i jiffy sealed everything. some spots 2 lairs but in the end i used 4 6" x 50' rolls of the jiffy stuff. heres a picture after laying it down. i still need to go threw and take care of some spots. in this picture you can see that messy caulk silicone sand stuff on the wheel wells. i let the mixture dry/cure 24 hours before aplying the jiffy seal.

more pictures 2marrow. i have pictures of the sound deadeding completed and some pictures of the enclosure. got go to some halloween party. i love being sober and everyone else being super sloppy hammered drunk.
