1986 Chevette CS Build

I am new to the forum as a poster, but I lurk around quite a bit. I have done 100s of installs in my short career of car audio, however nothing crazy. I have an 86 2-door hatchback Chevette that needs some love. I need ideas. As of now I am working on getting the beast in good running order. My new radiator and windshield are on their way, from there on its progress. So far the only real move toward a stereo install is having removed the A/C (One of the few Chevettes with A/C and I ruined it) to provide a perfect space for alternator number two. I need ideas with only two things in mind. 1. its a 1.6L 2. the suspension and drive train can barely handle the 1.6.

Look up an alternator for an 88 caprice with electrical options w 305 engine at autozone, you can get a 120a alternator for 50 bucks after core trade in. Throw 2 of those on there and youre set, poor mans high output alt.

Hell yeah, Thanks for the tip. Not to be too far off subject but I have the same HU, everyone seems to bash on the Pioneers here, I was going to toss it in the Vette but I dont want to look like a joke

Edit: Also I need to do a Big 3 obv, but Im not sure if It would be best to use a low strand count wire thats stiffer with the ugly casing or to just use traditional amp wire.

Also the pencil face video gives me sleeping problems at night

I'm not leaving the Chevette unattended in any city in Ohio. I dont even like having stereo equipment in my G5 with a security system.

This car brings back memories. Me and a few friends did on of these back in 01. Was loud for 3 college kids. 158.8 with 2 JL 15w3's and 2 planet audio 2500d's. Its a beast of a car tho. Dont give up on it.

Thanks for the encouragement, it say for 3 years and started right up, Im not looking for miracles, or for it to be a show car, just a weekend ground pounder.
