1500 @ 1ohm Amp Comparison

Sorry for neglecting the thread for a couple days. Had some system testing to do.
I have another major factor for the amp's consideration:

1/2 ohm performance

Audiopipe is solid at 1/2 ohm, with proper electrical. Reasoning, the AP-30001d is 2 of these strapped (check amp guts) and is 1 ohm stable. Many others on the forum have had success too. I believe around 2k @ 1/2 ohm.

Guts of the 6000:

Opinions, experiences, etc. are welcome, as always.
USACi 0-600 is a 1 amp class ^^^that amp is considered 2 amps.

the OLD AP amps were solidly built and looked identical to my 20.1 That Solid Audio amp on here would be a good choice.

People have been saying that AP will run 1/2 ohm with no trouble, but the internals are DEFINITELY not the same as an Incriminator Audio 20.1.

AP uses big thick parts, plenty of power supply, and no frills.

IA uses 4 different types of FETS, and seems to have alot more control circuitry. Definitely an elegant product. It oozes efficiency and stability.

the OLD AudioPipe amps meaning older than that pic. this is closer..not IDENTICAL, but similar...and flipped.

Thanks Doug,

I've seen that amp before, just not the internals. Besides the input caps and the wire winding, it's an identical amp.

I'm guessing that the IA 20.1 has the stronger power supply, but it's hard to tell from the view alone.

Nice find though.

how bout a cadence a7+hc....50wx1@4ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif claims 1200wrms@1ohm but it's been benched by a lot of people doing a lot more...

One guy on audioforum benched one @ 1406 watts into a 1 ohm load with 13.0 volts of power and 12 volt testing yielded 1136 watts into 1 ohm. have read somewhere can't find it for the life of me, that they are capable of close to 1800wrms @ 1ohm....not sure if they can run at 1/2 ohm...would like to know since i'm picking one up from a friend of mine. just saw one on egay just closeout for a little over $200 shipped...if i wasn't so broke d1ck atm i would've snatched it up.

To the cool kids, who have recommended the DD M3, I found this thread in SoundPressure.

Link to DD M3 Bench Test

0.85ohm => 2793watt

1.3ohm => 2360watt

2ohm => 1500watt

3ohm => 1344watt

3.7ohm => 1188watt

7ohm => 781watt

How on earth is this legal??? That's double advertised power at 4 ohms... and goes up to 3000 watts at 1/4.

Even with 5th grade math, that's was more than the 20% greater power rule for contesting an amp in USACi...

the cool kids KNOW this amp has been TESTED by USACi and been RATED at 600 watts and i think it's still 30% and I think the M3 passed by like 7 watts.

I'm not denying that USACi tested it and it passed... just //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/boink.gif.91933e72f927f2cefc79aff02573090c.gif dang...

Also, I have been reading about the American Bass VFL 150.1 , and it could be a decent choice too.

Looks to be a zenon board, and can pump out around 1600 rms@1, with the ability to overvolt to 18.... around 3000 watts when fully maxed out. Looking at the AmpGuts, it's the same board and structure as the IA, AP, etc. And has a notoriously good record on the forums.

Same way alot of other amps that are rated low but do like 4000-5000 watts are rated.....But yes its 30% now and it passed by a few watts....I have tested a M3 @ .87 ohm(wired to .25 ohm before rise) and 10.5 volts at 3105 watts...they are very overbuilt.
