Strapping amplifiers? Have some questions?

So I did a search on here for this, but could find no relative information on strapping amps besides just people just talking about it. I'm uneducated on exactly what the term means and my one friend who I asked told me that it just means the settings on the amps are all adjusted and ready to be used in a system...I'm assuming he's not correct?

So basically, what does strapping an amp mean? Is it when you connect two amps together or what? Also, what is the benefit? I myself wanna run 3 AQ HDC3 10's and run an AQ1200D to each of them, so would I need to strap the amps in that situation, what would be the benefit there?

i usually use some 14 inch bungee cords.

you can weld them together or use goop. It's pretty sturdy glue

strapping amps .what it does is just double your power no different then if you were running one amp per sub.starpping amps one is set as master and the second is set as slave the master set amp controls all settings.say u have a bass knob well you hook it to the master amp and it controls both amps all settings are bypassed on slave amp. both amps should be matching amps or problems will occur. they only benefit to strapping them is if you need say 2000 x 2000 =4000 to power your sub subs second u only have to adjust the master amp not the slave.if your running two subs and 2 amps id just connect one sub to one amp youll have more control over your settings..And i agree with DAK446.IF PEOPLE WANNA BASH GO TO TOPIX..MY motto If you have nothing good to say then say nothing at all..its just people like us trying to get help but get rudeness..

it has to be done in pairs, unless some company out there put out some new technology. one amp puts out + speaker terminal, one amp puts out - speaker terminal.

get a 3500D or 2 2200's for 3 subs....
