If it was me in your car and I was going to wall it I would do 2 15s in a 4th. IF you are going to build it. They are never right the first time. The bad thing about walls is sometimes you can't play with the doors open, or some other quirk.

i had planned on just walling the trunk i have about 4'x16" of area to work with. if i did 18's i would have to build out from the opening to allow for the larger cut out. but this can be done. im not trying to take up the whole trunk to build a 4th. they are to tricky to get right and i dont want to rebuild inside my trunk several times to get it right. the IB is is simple in design and a little different.

Two 18's in a trunk is not IB. That's a leaky sealed box.

gckless didu not ppost the vid of the 2 24's. when he opened his hatch all that u see is subs and amp. how is that different then sealing off my cabin area off from the trunk using my sub baffle any different? a i incorrect in my thinking here?

If you're used to the sound of a ported box, you probably won't be happy. It has the sound of a sealed box, but can get lower. Punchy music and boomy music both sound ok, but it will not be as loud as ported. I know I'm switching back to ported after running IB.

one reason to go IB is sound quality is good and bandwidth is usually wide and flat.

Response is flat provided you have woofers that are designed for that alignment. Do the woofers you plan to buy even have TS parameters published? Are they friendly for IB alignment? Do you have specs for whatever "custom" softparts you plan to use?

Not as loud as ported but I enjoy the sound of it and it get low easy which is what I like

i know that it's not going to be as loud as ported just something i wanted to try. kind of a personal goal. i want to achieve a 150+ in a way most arent doing it.

im working with ronal at tantric on some custom subs. and i am doing research to see what makes a good IB sub.

talked to ronal this morning. he is sure that i can achieve this goal. when im ready for subs he will build me a recone for my current HDD as well as a another HDD. did some measuring as well. i can squeeze 3 15's but for strength and simplicity i have decided to go with 2. just for fun i measured off my back seat area for a wall and came up with 28~cuft. so if i dont like the IB i might wall that bish off and do something crazy.

Joseph are u down to help on the build. if so maybe we can get our builds going simultaneously. i know u want a spl build and i want a sql. u know what they say 2 heads are better then 1. this will also give me a comp buddy cause everyone else is not into audio like us!.

Check out my car on youtube search (151.9 Saleen ) You can see no box when the guy video tapes the trunk ...one 12 one amp...on barely 13v's running with under drive pulleys...stock alt 4g power wire...lots of room left for improvements
