15" Sub for sealed setup?

I'm just looking for suggestions. I am considering getting a pair of 15" subs and sealing them in 2.2ft^3 each. I have a 15" XXX, but I don't really have enough space in my trunk to utilize its full capability.

This is what I am aiming for:

Size: 15" x 2

Power: 800-1000w rms +/- each

Sound: SQL (ability to hit in the 30-40hz range nicely in a sealed application)

Box: Must play well in 2 - 2.3ft^3 sealed

Config: DVC 4ohm

Amp: US Amps Merlin MD2

Any thoughts or suggestions?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh, I want to do it. I just would like to know what subs I should consider.

SoundSlinter RL-p 15? $250 ea

Ascendant Audio Arsenal 15? $250 ea

Brahma 15's would be nice, but too pricey for a pair.

BTW, that means I will have to sell my XXX 15" and for those of you who know my story, I finally got it reconed last month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It is awsome, but I am wasting it in it's current setup.

Q's are also around the $250 mark. $279 shipped I believe. Let us know what you do because I am in the exact same situation. I am either going with the Fi Audio Q or the Rl-P, after I see the tests.

Mag 15 ported 3cuft@32Hz should do the trick...if you need any more than that you are insane //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

I mag ported > 2 Q's sealed or are you saying one mag ported is enough for anyone?

I must be insane, because I already have a XXX 15 ported (4.06ft^3) tuned to 36hz on 1800W rms and 56sqin of port area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif Plus, I just like changing out my setup...call it OCD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Well two eDuh w/e's sealed wont touch even the XXX ported.

If you just want change in the $450-$550 budget range the Mag is the way to go. If you want to double that budget a Sound Stream XXX may be in your likings. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Most suber subs will do fine for sane listening levels in most vehicles with a single 12 ported. Anything above that is for the mildly insane (not a bad thing) or for showing off...past a single 15 ported, sub like the Mag, you are entirely insane. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would love to have a pair of SI Mag 15's, but in a D4 config to match up with my amp, but that is just not in my budget. I think a pair of RL-p 15's sealed, could potentially be louder then my current setup and louder then a 15" Mag ported as well.
