15 build for grand am

has anyone put a 15 in 99 grand. I dont see it happening to easy because the entrance of my trunk will only clear bout 13.5 of a box. It really pissed me off because on my 2 12's box had to 13.5 and be deep as hell. I wana get a fifteen in that trunk and have room for an amp rack, all the wires, and spare battery.

If anyone has done this help would be appreciated.

would i need to do something like sub on top port towards cabin or port towards back. Ya btw it would be nice if i could get it ported.

dont sell the car. do you have pictures. GA are actually surprisingly loud trunk cars.

I did 2 15" MTs ported in my trunk.

Fully functional folding back seats. 4 Sundown 1500s.

150+ in the headrest on a burp.

Cut out some metal around the trunk opening behind the backseat . That will give you the extra 4-5 in. you need .

Go through the rear seat opening and consicer a wedge shaped box with angled baffle...

I have done many installs in grand ams and cavaliers . In order to get a bigger box in there you need to trim some metal around the the trunk opening behind the backseat . Or you can build a box that is deeper and fire the woofer up which will work good also . You just need to dampen the hell out of the rear deck and trunk lid
