14 year old girl arrested for texting during class

since we dont know who the texts were to, your comparison is invalid. Cant even comment on it, theres not enough details.
How do you know what this girls grades are like?
I'm starting to think you are that girl. I don't think she was texting in class, but posting dumb shit on ca.com.

Do you know what her grades aren't like?

Do you think she's a dedicated student given her history and her actions in class, like say... texting while class is in session?

the negative effect was caused by the student breaking the rules and then lying to the officer which delayed the other students from learning even longer.
and you said the teacher could've ignored it... when that student fails, it will make the teacher look bad as if the teacher isn't teacher the students in his/her class. It's just like how stupid people on ca.com make the whole forum seem stupid.
You dont know what this girls grades are, so you cant comment on that. If the teacher would have ignored it, none of this would have happened. This thread wouldnt even be here.

You think the search happened in the classroom? Come on. It says the officer walked back and forth to the class twice to ask witnesses, which already means she had been removed from the class.

maybe the recession is caused by too many dumbasses not getting an education, but instead texting when they should be learning. Then they go out into the workforce or maybe not even able to join the workforce since they are so dumb, leading to a higher unemployment rate, which sure would affect a lot of people.
LOL are you serious dude? texting is something that has come up in the past 5 years. Texting has 0% chance of affecting anything in the world in the way you say.

Now you could make an argument about uneducated people in the workforce yes, but it has nothing to do with texting.

Chevillac is right. This won't teach the girl shit, it's just costing the parents money, Everyone acted like retards, particularly the teacher.

The search did not have to happen in the classroom. Obviously, if she would've just gave up the phone to begin with, the officer wouldn't have had to ask witnesses, which took up precious classroom time.

She is a freshman in high school. I really don't think 15 lost is going to do anything to their lives. I doubt if they're sitting in a dumpster in 30 years they're gonna be thinking "**** if that stupid ***** wasn't texting on her phone I'd be rich right now!"

edit:

you are the one saying students fail and effect the workforce and blah blah. Are you trying to say that she may be one of these people just because she is "texting instead of learning"?

Why would it matter who she's texting?
he said its hi-tek note passing. In class note passing involves more than one person. Thats a distraction to multiple students. This girl texting someone outside of school is only a distraction she imposes on herself, not the whole class. It affects noone but herself.
