14 year old girl arrested for texting during class

So when are they going to crack down on people texting while their driving? I have been run off the road by 2 different people because they werent paying attn to the road.

How come the student cannot be held responsible for her actions.

If the teacher ignored it, she wouldn't be doing her job.

There are resources for that. She shouldn't be chatting during class in any form.

Texting will lose you your job if you do it at many places. Great way to get yourself fired.

There are other resources available. She didn't have to break the rules.

It affects everyone who witnessess the text.

lawl
because her actions werent affecting anyone else.

Her job is to teach the entire class, not worry about the one student. So now that she got the student suspended, she still isnt teaching that student. So its lose-lose for the teacher.

How does it affect people witnessing her texting? Does it bother other students when the person next to them is taking notes too?

theyre trying, they have to clean up the high schools first. They are more important, says JamesBang, for the sake of our entire economy.

Texting does affect other students.

Her job is to enforce the schools policies and procedures, including but not limited to enforcement of cell phone policies. The teacher called the SRO when she was unable, thus following proper policies. Teaching is just a componet of what teachers actually do.

The fact that the disruptive student was removed from class makes the class more manageable. It's not lose-lose for the teacher, it's actually a net gain. By not paying attention, the student demonstrated that paying attention in class was not a priority.

Students do not laugh, giggle, or otherwise make a scene while taking notes. If the student was causing a disruption during notetaking, then they should be removed from class as well.

Consider the income of those with and without high school diplomas. I doubt few if any HS dropouts are out there creating enterprises that create jobs.

So she was laughing and giggling and making a scene, where did it say this? It does not affect everyone. I dont even see how you can possibly say it does. If that does, then everything anyone does in the classroom affects/distracts everyone else.

I think its funny too, because she did put the phone away, then they decided to search her. THey say if she would have put it away, that would have been the end of it, but when she does, they take her and search her for it.

So this girl is a HS drop out now? Just because she was texting?

So it doesnt matter if the students are texting each other the answers during a test?
Of course not. As long as it doesn't disrupt class.
Right Chev?
