14 year old girl arrested for texting during class

Schools are turning gay as hell. Calling the po pos for testing? In my old high school, you wouldn't have been asked to stop. You would have known to not even let the teacher see a phone let alone texting.

Well, it's obvious the girl is a moron. However, we have school resource officers to ensure education in the classroom. She was causing a disruption to the class, thus removed.

So the teacher shouldn't test the students for understanding? In a college class were the teacher doesn't care who passess or who fails, text all you want...hell, don't even show up.
In high school, where they hand-hold all the students, some jackass kid texting slows down the class. If she wants to text during class time, fine...do it outside and not slow down the class.

The teacher caused the disruption. She could have ignored it.

No, the student did. Did she cause a greater short term disruption, perhaps...but in the future students may be less inclined to text in class. When I was in high school, the possession of a phone was 3 days out of school suspension, then 5 days, then they ship you off to alternative school.

Yes she could have ignored it but then you would still have some little **** in the classroom not paying attention. In highschool you are still required to show up and pay attention. This kid didn't and should be punished for it. In college, you are the one paying for it so they don't really care.

Teacher could have dealt with this whole thing and other disturbances in a different way. Would make life much easier for herself. oh well i guess.

Perhaps. Perhaps by the video cameras in the class. Part of the teacher's duties is to ensure the students are following the school rules. Take an item such as dress....how another student dresses can be construed as disruptive; thus it is the teacher's responsibility to remove the disruption. If the teacher doesn't, then they aren't doing their job.

That money comes from the state which comes from taxes. That stuff will be payed by everyone either way.
