130 is very low, thats like Sony Xplod status..and 140 is very attainable with 1000$...get 2 Sundown 12s and any legit 1500w rms amp, and you should be around 140 in a properly built box

i saw an 8" american bass sub in a ported box with a 200 watt sony amp hit 132 db's, u can probably go to lowes buy a bosch jobsite radio to get 130 and wont have to run any wires

That Sony was for his tweets an mids I'm pretty sure he was running a alpine to the ab 8" but yeah was 200 watts either way...

OP if you don't know sundown (the SA-12s) then you need to learn about them quick. Sundown rocks the car audio world (real car audio not the mainstream crap that people get hooked up at bestbuy). Sundown is very expensive but very worth it.

It wouldn't be hard to do 150 much less 130 for a couple hundred dollars...granted it's not gonna be at a frequency you like. Pretty sure some massive tweeters in horn enclosures could do it.

My system is built with around $1000 including all the wires n such so you can spend a lot less if you don't know whether you'll enjoy that much bass or not. Remember you'll be hauling a lot more weight and a 2nd battery in the trunk if you're going with over 1000 watts RMS. You can spend as little as $400 and have subs, box, amp and wiring kits, maybe even some coaxial speakers for the front and rear too.

well, you should let me know some links for this stuff, it sounds great.

well for a box, i got a good deal from vitveet. but recently, people have been questioning his quality. but the whole process in him making my box and pricing was great. so look up vitveet.

my C&D batt, people are selling their batts on here for 100 also! but i think it's only local. just keep looking!

i know it sounds weird but I don't like the dust caps on those haha. I prefer more of a bowl.... any other like that sub have that?
