2002 Ford Taurus either has a 105 amp alternator or a 110 amp not sure what the mechanic put in... oem they came with two different outputs so it could be either. its brand new 2 weeks old. Anyway have a hifonics brz 1500.1D on the way will stock electrical support that ? Also brand new battery 650 cca no extra battery though. im sure there will be headlight flickering im just wondering if it will hurt alternator and if I can get at least 1200 watts out of that amp with stock electrical ???

Ok. well im trying to get estimates for the future as well.. what can someone with stock electrical see with a good amp? as in how many watts can a stock charging system realistically put out.

i have a friend that runs 2 12'' CVR kicker and a hifonics brutus 1500.1 on a ford F-150 with a stock alt it did dim sum at first but then he got a small second batt like im guessing 600 watts but after that no dimming but he has that system for a while now and his system sounds pretty good ! not better than mine tho lol

You can run that amp.. Are you going to get the power you want.. No...

Measure your voltage. If your dropping into the 12s and lower, your alternator can't keep up. The you are relying on battery power to try to maintain voltage.

But that amp isn't going to do the rated numbers at lower voltages.

But to also help, if that's the amp you want to use. If you're worried about needing to upgrade to an ho alt. It's not worth the money. The gains would be so minimal you may barely hear a difference.

Only other thing is if you keep everything stock, expect to shorten the lifespan of your alt and battery.
