12" sub v.s. 15" sub

All depends you cant put a 15 and a 12 in the same cu ft enclosure casue most 12 require a smaller one while a bigger one for the 15 in most cases. It all depends on the amp your using the sub and type of enclosure the 12 would'nt hit as hard but the 15 would not have near the sq.

Yeah I know all the particulars but I want to know if anyone has seen what the differance in db's from a 12 and a 15.For example you take a power hx2 12" sub and you take a 15" power hx2 sub and drive both with a bd1000 amp and they are in a sealed box made to their specs from RF and then see how much more db's the 15 produces.does a 15" sub give roughly 1-5 db's more than a 12" sub, thats what i want to know(same variables).

As cone area is doubled, the SPL is increased by 3 db. Typically, 12's to 15's have a 4 to 7 ratio on cone area. You can expect an increase of 2 db from switching from a 12 to 15. This is with the same sub on the same amp.
