I did plan, I searched all over hell about it. Not much on the solo-x on the forums. I wanted a flat response, being that these subs like mainly high notes. Im planning on tuning to 35hz. I hate high notes, they annoy me.dude you need to do some planning before you put this sub under pressure again. build a proper box thats ported properly for the sub.
then judge it.
Very few subs need to be babied when broken in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifdid u even break it properly???
who else bets, gain and bass boost cranked and playing yung jeezy straight from the box
Nah I'm not a nub. Gains set with multimeter, sub was used not new. Built a big box for low notes and port. I don't post *****, I read a lot and use the search button; hence the 2002 join date.did u even break it properly???

Thanks for the useful information. Sounds like I need a lot of port area. How many 4" ports should I go with? Would 6" be best?Very few subs need to be babied when broken in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
To the OP, use at least 4" or 6" ports when you port it. 3" won't cut it.
Any way to fool the box and make it smaller? Any packing i can shove in there? I made a mistake by following a randoms advice. I had to drill out a hole in the back for speaker wire to go through, will the leak make a huge difference?almost 4 cubic ft ported for a 12? lol i recommend smaller boxes then that for 15s
2.5/3 cubes at most after displacements with a pair of 4'' aeros or a single 6''
Sounds good. Is 3.8 before driver displacement really too big ported? The sub has to take up quite a bit, its huge.seal it up...drilling a hole is fine but it needs to be 100% sealed, especially since its supposed to be a sealed box now
I use hot glue to seal up when I drill a hole for wire, you can use liquid nails though
