What would get louder a 10" W7 with 500 watt or a 12" W6v2 with 1000 watts both in ported boxes in a suv same brand of amp and everything else the same too

the 12 will actually push more air than the 10. the W7 will move a little farther but the 12W6v2 has a bigger overall surface area and a bigger piston than the 10W7 does. The 10W7 will move slightly more air than a 12W6v2. Either would be a great choice though.. I've got a 12W6v2 now and it sounds great. I've got a 12W7 I'm waiting to install though. Personally, I'd go for the 12W7 or 13.5W7. I haven't heard a 13W6v2 yet, but I can only imagine it's as awesome as the 12 is. That may be an option for you as well.
I have heard a 12W6v2 hooked to a JL Audio 1000/1. It hit pretty hard, but in 1.25CF Sealed, you could tell it was reaching XMax and trying for more. I give my W6v2 about 550W and it's about perfect.
displacement is cone area times excursion (linear usually). going by JL's specs, the 10w7 will SLIGHTLY push more air (difference is soo small though).the 12 will actually push more air than the 10. the W7 will move a little farther but the 12W6v2 has a bigger overall surface area and a bigger piston than the 10W7 does.
Absolutely wrong.the 12 will actually push more air than the 10. the W7 will move a little farther but the 12W6v2 has a bigger overall surface area and a bigger piston than the 10W7 does.
no.......take the Sd and multiply it by 2(xmax)Absolutely wrong.
Take the effective piston (Sd) and multiply it by Xmax on each driver.
u are forgetting the fact that i have a 10w7 and around 500 at @3ohm. i should know if it reaches its limit or not and yes, it does. put it in a 3 cubic feet box with that much power and u can see it reach full excursion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifYou're dismissing the fact that 500 watts will push a 10W7 nowhere near its limits and 1000 watts will push a 12W6v2 past its limits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Why don't you just get a 10W7, 12W7, or 13W7 and get a Soundstream Rubicon1000-2 ($~$280 shipped) ?
How much are you looking to spend ?
Um. Well first of all the 12W6v2 would last about 3 minutes with 1000 watts running to it. its RMS is 400 if im correct, and while that is underated, I dont think its underated by 600 watts. 500 watts for the 10W7 is a clean match, the SQ will be amazing and it will get pretty loud, esp. if you port it. Id do with the 10W7....cause the other option isnt possib;e. But id probably go witht he W7 anyway, as an owner of a 13W7 i dont have a bad thing to say about em, youll be very pleased with it.
