10s vs 12s for SQ

Well, I was planning on 2 10s, but I'd like to achieve the same results for less money. So if I can make 1 12 sound as good as 2 10s, and it's probably less expensive (maybe?), then I would prefer to go that route. I listen to a little rap, occasionally, but mostly rock and country, so I don't really need it to hit too low.

Awesome, that's close to what I would have paid for the Blaupunkt 10s. Thanks a bunch! Guess I'll go ahead with 2 10s, and start thinking out plans for amps and box design.

 
That is a response graph of the particular enclosure it was tested in. Each line depicts a certain enclosure and the response you should expect.

As you can see the Butterworth enclosure sizes yield the smoothest response. So you should try to remain close to that enclosure type:)
