08 z71 pcm voltage controlled alt.

Had a break with an eye infection but I'm doing better and back at it again.

After I finish sound mat I'm going to tackle the dual alt set up, my trucks alt's voltage is pc controlled.

Anyone found a way around this without throwing an engine code light?

Seen a vid while back of Steve mead on YouTube doing a plugin to his alt that fixed voltage and didn't let car's computer control the voltage. Anyone else try this????

Think I'll put the mechman 320 on Starting battery and from starting batt run back to 480. I'll hook the gp 370 straight to the North Star 480 in the back.

I need to find a fix for the pcm voltage controller or the mechman will do very little since both alts will end up on the same battery.

 
They have a bypass module that allows for a external regulator to be used as the alternator regulator.

If doing a dual alt setup you can always leave the srock alt and place a h/o with a external reg so the stock system is intact.

The cel coming on are from 99-06 since adding a new h/o alt required a remote wire to be placed on the charging post to turn the regulator on mainly on 4 pin connectors.

Not sure where you saw meade with a newer chevy as he only has a nbs tahoe and a 2016-2018 escallade.

He wasn't doing a Chevy but some car. Nissan maybe?

I kinda goofed up and didn't get the triple bracket (just dual) or I would leave factory alt. I need both alts as later I will double power and pick up a 2nd nortstar 480 and a 2nd 7k

The gp 370 is self exciting but the mechman 320 is made to be hooked up with factory plug.

When I bought the mechman I didn't know the trucks pc can control the voltage.....I just thought my factory alt was weak er n h3ll.

Well the silverado you got needs to have that plug plugged in to not get a cel unless you tune it out by going to a dyno shop or even blackbear.
Or else live with the light and use a external reg on both alts.
