Hello,
I am looking for some expert advise on the car audio setup I plan to do in the near future.
First I would like to give a quick history. This will be my second time having a sub woofer setup in one of my vehicles. The first time around I was running 2 12" Alpine type R's with around 500-600 watts RMS going to each sub. The bass was incredible, I wouldn't ask for more. However my main complaint was that the ONLY music that sounded good was Rap/Hip hop. I like to listen to a wide variety of music, including heavy metal with double bass. I was told that going down to a 10" subwoofer would help with that??
So keeping that in mind, here is the current setup I am looking at.
2 10" Apline R-W10d4 https://alpine-usa.com/product/view/r-w10d4-subwoofers/
2 Alpine MRV-M1200 amps, running one to each sub. https://alpine-usa.com/product/view/mrv-m1200
The advise I am specifically looking for, is for one, will this setup work? I don't fully understand OHMS but am told 4 ohm is the best way to go, so the way I see this is I have 2 4 ohm speakers that can each handle 750 watts rms, so I am getting 2 amplifiers that can run 600 watts rms at 4 ohms each. Is there anything I am missing here, or a better way I could set it up?
Also any additional advise on the other things I will need (a good sub box?, Good amp wiring kit?) would be great!
Thank you
