So I went out and bought new speakers for my girls front doors. I got some Sony xplod's 190w max, 40w RMS.
Crutchfield said they would fit, so I get home and what a PAIN IN THE ARSE it is to install. I doubt ANYONE else here has a aerio but in case you do here is how to replace them.
1) roll down the window and put a flat head screwdriver in the top of the handle of the door. Then pop the cover off. Unscrew those 2 screws.
2) Unscrew the door handle that actually opens the door. slide it forward, unhook it, and pop it off.
3) grab under the door and pull the door panel off.
4) slide up over the door lock and then unclip the powerlock and window connection.
5) unscrew old speakers
6) this is where it gets tricky. You need a piece of wood to go across the hole. The speakers will not fit in themselves so you need to put a piece of wood connecting to the door so you can screw the speakers into that.
Once everything is hooked up follow the directions backwards to rehook everything back up.
I recommend using dynamat since you are using wood and it's so ghetto. I'm sure there is a ring to put the speaker in but I couldn't find one, so I just ghetto-rigged it.
Hope this helps at least 1 Person!
