i knwo that theres a type r thread now.. and i know about the search button. heres the problem. when i do a search it comes up with millions of random posts and theyre all in the same thread. i honestly am not sure the big type r thread is such a great idea.

and i didnt post in there cause not half as many people go in there and i would just eb adding to the mess.

ANYWAYS

i ordered 2 type r 12s and need to know what size you guys think they sound the best in. i know alpine recommends like 1.2 or somethin but IMO i think thats too small. id like a very nice SQL mix. i was considering 2.25 @ 33hz each

2cuft is prolly **** close to "the best"..tuned...whichever u like more....my box is currently at 28 and i love it!!!

I had 2 of them in a 2.5cf (1.25cf each) @ 30hz box with 600 watts rms each, and now I have 1 in 2.5cf @ 30hz with 900 watts rms. I definately like the way it sounds now.

hows the difference in SQ and SPL?

can you compare and contract the two setups please?

Well overall it sounds smoother. Not sure how to explain that. When I took the other sub out I turned the gain down some too. So I may not not be runnin full power to it. About to go check that now.

SQ is better now. SPL is not as high, as would be expected by taking out half the woofers and some of the power. I definately think I will be making a 5.0cf box with sep chambers for each woofer.
