i use nothing but flexaprene 2/0 and knu 1/0

Like almost everyone has said, KNU all the way man. If your running medium amperage there KCA (copper clad aluminum) is ~$80 for 50' and the wire is almost 1/2 inch in diameter, not even counting the jacket.
