Newb Big 3 question

I did the Big 3 upgrade but I may have done it wrong, if that's even possible. lol Anyways, I added a run of 1/0 from the alt to the pos. on my battery, neg. battery to engine, and neg. battery to chassis.

After reading through the Big 3 thread it seems like you're supposed to have it from the engine to chassis, not battery neg. to chassis. Did I do it right or am I missing something? When I bought the truck the had the neg. battery to engine and nothing to the chassis.

-Thanks if anyone knows what I'm talking about and any info about how to do it.

its possible that your OEM wiring connected the engine to the battery's negative terminal, and ran a wire from there to the chassis. On my car and probably many others, the OEM wiring connects the negative battery terminal to the chassis and then grounds the engine block to the chassis as well.Unless you've got an epic system planned, in which case you're probably running dedicated grounds back from the alt anyways, you will be fine with your current arrangement.

That's how it's supposed to be set up but when I got the truck there was no connection from the batt neg to chassis. I looked everywhere. There's a small 12-14ga wire that is connected to the terminal with a butt splice but it's again, not connected to anything. I just ran a line of 1/0 to the chassis so I should be covered.
